Global Dark Web Marketplace Operations: Alleged Mass Sale of Stolen Financial Data, PII, and Fraudulent Payment Services Across Multiple Platforms

Between September 16-19, 2026, multiple threat actors allegedly conducted coordinated sales operations across dark web marketplaces (Altenen, CrdPro, ASCarding, Dread) offering stolen financial credentials, personally identifiable information (PII), and fraudulent payment services targeting global financial institutions and payment platforms. The actors allegedly advertised non-VBV (Verified by Visa) credit/debit cards, complete identity packages (fullz), bank login credentials, PayPal accounts, and cryptocurrency conversion methods across multiple countries. The operations allegedly demonstrate sophisticated financial crime infrastructure utilizing Telegram, Tor hidden services, and clearnet domains for transaction facilitation. The significance lies in the scale and coordination of these alleged marketplace activities, the targeting of mainstream payment platforms (Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Cash App, Chime), and the availability of comprehensive PII datasets enabling identity theft and account takeover attacks. Organizations should enhance monitoring for fraudulent transactions, implement stronger authentication mechanisms, and educate customers about credential protection.
